Kenza Benabderrazik (Dr. Sc. & Ing. , she/they) is a Moroccan-born researcher and educator working at the intersection of agroecology, political ecology, and art–science dialogue. She is currently Senior Lecturer and Outreach Coordinator at the Sustainable Agroecosystems Group, Department of Environmental Systems Science at ETH Zürich. Her work explores resilience in food systems, water governance, and agroecological transitions, decolonial and feminists approaches, with a particular focus on North and West Africa.

Kenza earned her Doctorate in Environmental Systems Science at ETH Zürich, where she investigated climate resilience in tomato value chains in Morocco and Ghana. She also holds M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in Environmental Sciences and Engineering from EPFL. Her academic trajectory includes research stays at the University of Bergen and collaborations with institutions in Kenya, Ghana, Ethiopia, and South Africa. Before joining ETH Zürich, she worked as an environmental engineer, consulting on environmental impact assessment, circular economy, waste management, and resource efficiency for projects in Tunisia, Morocco, and Switzerland.

Her writings have appeared in journals such as Ecology and Society, Agricultural Water Management, Science of the Total Environment, and Nature Food. More recently, she edited a special feature on post-growth in food systems for the Grassroots Journal of Political Ecology. Kenza also leads art–science initiatives such as the SAE Greenhouse Art-Lab at ETH Zürich, creating spaces for dialogue between scientists, artists, and diverse actors engaged in food system transformation.

She regularly speaks at international scientific and artistic gatherings, including the Free Radicals Symposium (Prague) and the International Society of Ethnobiology Congress (Marrakech), as well as events in Venice, Basel, Mexico, and Vienna. In addition to her public engagements, she teaches courses on agroecology, resilience, political ecologies and food systems, while mentoring students and professionals through transdisciplinary projects.
